With homecoming week right around the corner students are excited about the themes and activities coming for this year’s homecoming week. This is especially exciting because St. Thomas Aquinas hasn’t been able to fully embrace the homecoming spirit in recent years due to COVID-19. The Raiders have started to prepare hallway decorations, with many students showing up after school to pitch ideas and help out with the decorating. The theme for this year is cities, with Freshmen being Honolulu, Sophomores being Nashville, Juniors with Miami, and the Seniors with Los Angeles. Throughout the week prior to the homecoming football game, each grade is allowed to create posters to express the theme assigned to their grade. In addition to the class themes, there will be a themed dress-up day for each day of homecoming week. Monday is school pride (blue and gold), Tuesday is Matheletes vs. Athletes, Wednesday is Rhyme Without a Reason, Thursday is Dream Job, and Friday is HOCO shirt day where a pep rally is expected to be held on the football field. Although some students are disappointed with options provided for these dress-up days, many others are meticulously planning for a fun and festive week ahead! This HOCO promises to be as fun as ever, especially with its return after the global pandemic.
