This year soccer fans get to watch the biggest sports event in the entire world! With nearly billions of people watching, the World Cup is one of the most important tournaments in a footballer’s career. Players from around the world face off to represent their country and see who comes out on top.
Argentina: Based on the statistics in recent games and past history, Argentina is the team to look out for this year. They are on a 35, game winning streak and are back after winning the Copa America, a tournament for South American countries. Argentina also already has two World Cup wins under their belt with one of the best players of all time leading the team, Lionel Messi. Messi has taken his team to a World Cup final before, but this time his team can back him up and he no longer has to carry the team. With one of the best defenses in the league, and a very solid offense, their lineup is looking like a force to be reckoned with this season.
England and Portugal: The 2022 World Cup will be full of surprises. Two of the strongest teams are England and Portugal. They are both powerhouse squads that are always super entertaining to watch. Portugal has the best player of all time, Ronaldo, who will look to take his team really far. England has a squad full of young talent, and they can beat teams with ease. That’s why fans believe these two teams will make it far and will really put on a show in the 2022 World Cup.
USA: This year 32 teams in each country will compete for what is considered to be the most sought after trophy in football. Lots of people have different opinions about who could win the World Cup. The USA have always been underdogs when it comes to SFG soccer, but this new team is showing that it is hungry to win. This 2022 World Cup roster features prominent stars including the captain, Christian Pulisic, a known midfielder and Weston Mckinney who plays for Juventus, which is a top club in Italy. This USA team is stronger than ever, winning the Concacaf finals. The thing that will separate this team from others is their drive to be the best.
