The Ravens vs. the Saints game took place on a Monday night, November 7, 2022. The Saints came into the game with a season record of 3-5, while the Ravens were favored to win the matchup with a record of 5-3. The Ravens had a superior quarterback in this game, with Lamar Jackson. Jackson is one of the best rushing QB in the league, with 635 rushing yards on the year and 1,768 passing yards. The Saints’ quarterback Andy Dalton is more of a passing QB; he only has 33 rushing yards during the season. In spite of that, Dalton has a higher completion percentage than Lamar. In terms of running backs, the Saints have the Ravens beat with Alvin Kamara who, although has missed some games due to an injury, still had 443 rushing yards heading into this game and an astounding 8.8 yards per carry when healthy.
-Lamar Jackson
The Ravens main running back is Kenyan Drake with 344 rushing yards and an average of 4.7 yards per carry, falling short of what Kamara has been able to do. The Saints also have more talented wide receivers with the recently added Chris Olave who has brought this offense to life and had 658 receiving yards heading into this matchup. Normally, the Ravens would have Mark Andrews, who is in the top 3 tight ends in the league, but due to a shoulder injury he was not able to play in this game giving the better tight end title to the Saints.
In terms of defense they are more equal, although the Ravens overall definitely have a better offense.
-Alvin Kamara
The Saints have a better pass defense allowing fewer yards to wide receivers and tight ends, yet the Ravens have a better defensive line allowing less yards to running backs. The Saints on average allow 23.3 points per game, mostly due to their D-line, while the Ravens only allow 20.6 points per game giving them an edge on defense against the Saints. The Ravens had a 5-2 record against the Saints until November 7, 2022 when the Ravens again beat the Saints 27-13.
