The XFL (Xtreme Football League) is an innovative new football league founded on January 25, 2018. The XFL has made a more action packed rule book that is based on what fans want and players’ safety. The XFL helps players get scouted to play in the NFL. Also, players that retired from the NFL can play in this league. Many players have taken advantage of this, such as Josh Gordon, Ben DiNucci, and more.
The XFL has many different rules that set the league apart from the NFL. One of these rules is that there are no kicking extra point attempts. After a touchdown, you can try to score from the 2-yard line for 1 point, from the 5-yard line for 2 points, or from the 10-yard line for 3 points. Another rule used by the XFL is that instead of kicking an onside kick a team can go for a 4th & 15. The NFL actually considered implementing this rule a couple of seasons ago but the league’s competition committee did not pass the rule change. If they are unable to convert, the opposing team will recover the ball in a scoring position. They also have a different system for overtime, which consists of alternating attempts from the opponent’s 5-yard line. There are three attempts per team until a winner is decided.
The teams in the XFL consist of Arlington Renegades, DC Defenders, Houston Roughnecks, Orlando Guardians, San Antonio Brahmas, Seattle Sea Dragons, St. Louis BattleHawks, and Vegas Vipers.
With a fresh new rule book and a growing fanbase, the XFL
