The turbo is a round fan that will give the engine more air and boost the HP. The engine will only use the turbo when you are flooring the pedal. Superchargers give the engine more air, like the turbo, but there are other superchargers that give more horsepower and fuel. This is because by giving the engine more fuel you will be able to get more HP out the engine, due to it being able to combust more fuel and forcing the car to go faster. However, there is also a risk you can blow the engine if you set it up wrong. If the engine is not designed to handle that much HP, the cylinder might get damaged depending on how fast it is turning. There have been cases where the cylinder exploded out of the engine!
