The Miami Dolphins have hired San Francisco 49ers Offensive Coordinator, Mike McDaniel, as the team’s next Head Coach. Mike McDaniel started his NFL career in Washington where he was an Offensive Assistant before being promoted to Wide Receivers coach. McDaniel then left Washington and went to coach Wide Receivers with the Cleveland Browns under Head Coach, Pat Shurmur. McDaniel then made the move to the Atlanta Falcons where he was the Offensive Assistant under Head Coach, Dan Quinn. When Kyle Shanahan, who was the Offensive Coordinator in Atlanta, was offered a job as Head Coach of the 49ers, McDaniel left and went with him, which is where McDaniel had spent the last three seasons before being named Head Coach of the Miami Dolphins. Kyle Shanahan, Head Coach of the 49ers, had nothing but good things to say about McDaniel, “Mike’s a good dude he’s really good at what he does and he’s himself. He’s one of the smartest coaches I’ve been around and he’s been around and he’s been huge to our team and huge for me throughout my entire career.” 49ers Fullback Kyle Juszczyk stated in a Tweet, “ Absolute BEST in the game!! Nobody gets more out of his players than McDaniel!! Most creative run scheme out there! So deserving of this promotion!!” For a Dolphins fan, this hire was great. They would get a young offensive mind to help their Franchise Quarterback, whoever it may be, and he is also good for the Dolphins as a team and a franchise.
