Louie Bing Invitational

Louie+Bing+Invitational

On February 16th-17th, 2024, St. Thomas Aquinas took part in the Louie Bing Invitational at Traz Powell Stadium. The Aquinas Raiders performed very well on both days of the competition. 

Day 1

On the boys’ team, in the 100-meter dash, freshman Lee Prince qualified for the finals and senior Cameron Williams placed 32nd. On the girls’ team for the 100-meter dash, sophomore Ariyanna Griggs placed 2nd, qualifying for the finals. Junior Kelyse Jackson placed 6th also qualifying for finals alongside Jordyn Downing Freshman who  placed 7th. Junior Sydney Tyler placed 34th overall in this race. In the 200-meter dash, Lee Prince qualified in 2nd place and senior Ryan Mack finished 12th. Sophomore Ariyanna Griggs placed 1st, qualifying for the finals of the 200. Freshman Jordyn Downing placed 16th and junior Shanell Morgan and Isys Crockett placed 19th and 33rd.  In the 400-meter dash, freshman Ashton Mitchel placed 33rd, freshman Kendell Sloane placed 43rd, senior Qwesi Allen placed 62nd, and sophomore Gavin-Dale Miller came 72nd. Junior Shanell Morgan placed 11th, senior Maya Maycock-Beckles placed 15th, sophomore Hadiza Crockett placed 35th, and sophomore Alana Johnson placed 55th. In the 800 -meter dash, sophomore Jeremiah Holassie placed 8th and senior Christopher Adams placed 11th; both qualified for the finals. Juniors Marco Ristaino and Gustavo Perez placed 37th and 50th. Junior Grace Finneran placed 5th, qualifying for finals, junior Alexis Morgan placed 47th, and junior Kate Koontz placed 50th. In the 1600 -meter dash, Marco Ristaino placed 6th in the finals. Freshman Remy Coia placed 3rd qualifying for finals, and junior Alexis Morgan placed 16th. 

In the 110 -meter hurdles, junior Maximilian Edwards and freshman Mekhi Chamberlain placed 28th and 29th with sophomore Tyler Blake placing 31st. In the 100m hurdles, junior Arianna Allen placed 3rd qualifying for finals, junior Aisha Hane placed 11th, freshman Alexis Sutton placed 22nd, and junior Isys Crokett placed 25th. In the 400-meter hurdles, Tyler Blake placed 23rd, Maximilian Edwards placed 41st and Mekhi Chamberlain placed 42nd. Juniors Aisha Hane and Arianna Allen placed 5th and 6th which qualified for the finals, junior Kelyse Jackson placed 8th qualifying for finals, and freshman Ayanna Bryant placed 18th. In the 4x100m the boys’ team placed 4th, qualifying for the finals. In the 4×400 the boys placed 7th and the girls placed 1st, which qualified the team  for the finals. In the 4×800 the boys placed 12th.

Day 2

During the second day of the Invitational, the athletes entered the finals.  In the 100-meter dash,  Ariyanna Griggs placed 2nd, Lee Prince placed 6th, Kelyse Jackson placed 7th, and Jordyn Downing placed 8th.  In the 200-meter dash, Lee Prince placed 4th and Ariyanna Griggs placed 3rd. In the 800-meter, Grace Finneran placed 6th,  Christopher Adams placed 10th and Jeremiah Holassie placed 13th.  In the 1600-meter invitational, Gustavo Perez placed 11th and Grace Finneran placed 3rd. In the 3200m, Remy Coia placed 2nd, Marco Ristaino placed 5th, Jon Magbanua placed 17th, and  Alexander Selman placed 19th. In the 100m hurdles Arianna Allen  placed 7th. In the 400m hurdles Kelyse Jackson placed 5th, Aisha Hane placed 6th, and Arianna Allen placed 8th. In the 4×100 the boys placed 2nd. In the 4×400 the boys finished 5th and the girls finished 4th.
