The school year is coming to an end! For seniors that means they will not be coming back to their school of four years, but going off to a completely new environment, college! At St. Thomas Aquinas we love our seniors and it is sad to say goodbye, but also joyous to see them graduate and move on to a new chapter of their life.
STA has provided special activities for seniors like “Grad Bash” where seniors get to go to Universal for a day to have fun! STA also hosted motivational meetings in the gym for the staff to talk to them about how to prepare for college and what lies ahead.

During the month before seniors graduate, they sometimes experience ’’Senioritis.” This term refers to a supposed affliction of students in their final year of high school or college, characterized by a decline in motivation or performance. Some seniors experience this because they are ready for their high school days to be over. One senior says “Graduating is a very bittersweet feeling to me. I feel sad to leave some of my friends, my teachers, and my family here in Florida but I am also ready to take on this new chapter in my life.” Another senior remarked “I am ready to leave STA! Although I love the school, I feel like I have been here for a long time and I just want it to be summer!” A third senior has completely different feelings, “I am so so so sad to grow up and go to college. I feel like it was my freshman year yesterday! Time flies so fast and I wish I had a little bit longer. I am scared for college but I know I will turn out fine because STA has prepared me well.”
Here at STA we will miss our seniors and wish them the best of luck. Seniors are all experiencing different emotions and have different mindsets. Most seniors all have one similar piece of advice to share- Time flies fast and it is important to enjoy every moment you share with your friends, family, and teachers.
