Bright futures awaited the Freshman class of 2027 as they stepped into STA on August 16th, 2023. The Freshman gathered together in the gym, where they were officially welcomed to their new home. Avery Mescolotto, Carter Crowther, and Natalie Morales, three Freshman students, embarked on a mission to uncover the real emotions of their peers toward Saint Thomas Aquinas High School.
Kyle Charles, a graduate of Nativity Catholic School, said his goal was to maintain good grades and join a sports team. Kyle appreciates the school so far but one thing he wishes he could change is that students were allowed to leave the cafeteria during lunch when they want to. Aside from this, Kyle feels the school has welcomed him with maximum school spirit.
Brooklyn Ricker, an Indian Ridge Middle School graduate, hopes to earn good grades in all of her classes. She feels that STA is better than her public school because it is stricter. She feels that strictness is more effective because students have more opportunities to succeed. Brooklyn feels STA has warmly welcomed her because of the strong school spirit. She is most excited this year to make new friends.

Lastly, Alliyah Luengo, a Saint David Catholic School graduate hopes to maintain a steady GPA. She feels the school is perfect, and nothing should be changed because it is centered around the ideas of faith and education. Alliyah feels STA is a homey and welcoming school, accompanied by trustworthy staff and students. She is glad to be at STA as opposed to her middle school because it is a lot bigger and she is given the opportunity to decide what she would like to learn. Alliyah is most excited for Homecoming week, football games, and participating in STA’s well-known traditions.
Overall, the Freshman class of 2027 thinks that Saint Thomas Aquinas High School is a great establishment and life-changing. Everyone comes from many different points of view; private school students, Catholic school students, and even public school students. Each student came in with a common idea that STA is a warm, welcoming place overflowing with school spirit and love for one another.
